Educational Outreach

Welcome to the educational outreach page of the PBS eight Web site.  Here, you will find links to the many exciting opportunities and resources  that make PBS eight a major educational resource and service provider for the Northland.  Educational Outreach is how PBS eight moves beyond television broadcast to actual involvement of people with information and concepts.  Through educational outreach services, PBS eight provides informational, educational, and instructional programs and services directly into the homes, classrooms, businesses, and communities of the Northland.

Educational Outreach at PBS eight offers services for lifelong learning, from birth through the human lifespan. The Ready to Learn link will provide information about free community workshops and services for parents, early childhood educators, daycare providers, etc. The link for contests provides information about and forms for PBS eight's contests for school-aged children that enhance learning in the classroom. These award-winning contests have received national praise and recognition. The link for school membership details how schools, of all types, can take advantage of the remarkable K-12 instructional programming available through PBS, the largest educational service provider in the world. The link for Resources provides outstanding free lesson plans, activity pages for children, resource links for parents and teachers on special education and other topics.

The links to each of these important areas of outreach are found in the left-hand menu. Each of these projects helps the project participants become better informed and actively involved, regardless of age or location in the Northland
