Grade School Poster Contest

We are very pleased to announce the WDSE-WRPT Poster Art Contest for school year 2014-2015.

Students in grades two through five are encouraged to submit a poster illustrating the following topic:

“Illustrate a day or event that you will always remember. In one or two sentences, describe that day or event on the front or back of your poster.”

There are no restrictions on media (ink, colored pencil, markers, paint, paper, craft supplies etc.) but the work must be dry and stackable when submitted. Each entry must be original and not exceed the borders of an 11 X 17 poster. Entries must be marked on the back with the student’s name, school, teacher and grade.

The deadline for poster submissions is December 5, 2014. Because so many schools and students will be participating, we ask teachers, with the help of their students, to choose the five posters from each classroom that best respond to the topic.

Teachers and homeschool parents may send their entries to: WDSE•WRPT 632 Niagara Court, Duluth, MN 55811.

Prize Levels

Each grade level will be awarded the following prizes:

  • First Place: $150
  • Second Place: $100
  • Third Place: $75
  • Honorable Mention: $25

A panel of area artists, teachers and gallery owners will judge submitted posters and winners will be announced in February. A gala Awards Ceremony will be held on April 19, 2015 in Duluth to honor the winners and to award the prizes.

We appreciate the help of the many area sponsors and supporters who have made this event possible. If you have questions about the contest, please contact Kathleen Clark at 218-724-5147.
