Filmed in Texas in 1972 over four nights of the “Exile On Main Street” U.S. tour, “Ladies & Gentlemen” was premiered at the Ziegfeld Theatre in New York on April 15, 1974, and released into selected cinemas across the country shortly afterward. It was billed at the time as “…the most powerful rock film ever made” and is considered by many fans to be the finest Rolling Stones performance ever captured on film.
